Charlbury Community Centre has an area which can be rented by take-away vans and traders. There is an electricity supply so food can be freshly prepared on location. Currently the following are available:
Scrabble sessions, open to anyone, on Mondays at 2pm from 22nd November onwards. A £2 donation towards the cost of the room is requested. Please join us!
Please join us for carols, mince pies and mulled wine on Saturday 18th December from 7pm outside the Community Centre. Singing will be led by Jennie Grierson and some children from the pirmary school choir. Refreshments are provided in conjunction with St Mary's Church.
The Thomas Gifford Trust is a charity which owns and manages the Charlbury Community Centre and also the Playing Close. There is presently a vacancy for a trustee, and we'd like to hear from you if you might be interested. The trustees meet every 2 months (on a Wednesday evening), but as a team are involved, with others, in the management and day to day running of the Community Centre. It is a friendly and committed team and amongst the existing trustees there is a wide range of skills and experience. For the new trustee we are not looking for any particular skill set, but it would be good to have someone who uses and knows the Community Centre. If you are interested or would like to know more about what might be involved, please contact Tanya: email@example.com Information about the Trust and the other trustees can be found here
A huge thank you to House and Carriage, Halcyon Honey Farm and our stalwart buildings team for providing and putting up the magnificant tree. It looks fantastic!
Thanks to Charlbury Art Society for organising local people to make more beautiful mosaic swifts for the library wall. They look fantastic and they now continue in from the outside patio wall and swoop right through the building. Charlbury is proud of it's swifts, which come all the way from Africa to nest in our buildings and this is a great collaborative art project to reflect this.
You can now pick up free Lateral Flow Covid-19 testing kits from reception at the Community Centre. Full instructions are inside the box.
