Wellness and studio sports

The Thomas Gifford Room can cater for all types of small class or studio sports, therapies, dance, martial arts and general wellbeing activities. It has a sprung floor, mirrors and a dance barre. Curtains and blinds can be drawn so that it is fully private.

The classes currently on offer are listed below together with the contact for the course leader. Generally the instructor will book and pay for the hire of the room and you will pay them directly, unless stated otherwise. Please contact the instructor if you would like to join any of the classes.

Circuit Training & LEANGym



Commit to get fit with circuit training classes from our own Jason Biles. Wednesday’s LEANGym is a gym based class using our new Community Gym facility. It is a gentle gym based circuit class that suits all fitness abilities and is aimed at helping you make changes to your Lifestyle, Exercise and Nutrition. We can discreetly and individually weigh or measure you (optional and by appointment) and help you set some realistic goals that will make positive changes in your life all year round.

Sunday Circuits are open to all aged 11 and over; juniors only pay £3, but need to come with an adult.

In the interests of hygiene, circuit class participants are kindly requested to bring towels

All the above courses are £7 per week. If you come to the Wednesday or Thursday class and have to miss your session, you can attend the Sunday class instead as that class can take extra people.

Strength and Balance

Simple strength, balance, flexibility and mobility is the focus for this class. A chair is used as a support as well as a range of equipment. As the class progresses, some time will be spent working on practising going down and up from the floor (or kneeling). This class is ideal for people who are worried about their balance.

  • Strength & Balance – Mondays 1.15-2.15pm and 2.30-3.30pm

Consecutive classes held at Charlbury Community Centre at 1.15pm and at 2.30pm every Monday during term time except Bank Holidays. £4 per session – your first session is free. Please stay afterwards for coffee, chat, board games, quizzes etc.
