The Thomas Gifford Room can cater for all types of small class or studio sports, therapies, dance, martial arts and general wellbeing activities. It has a sprung floor, mirrors and a dance barre. Curtains and blinds can be drawn so that it is fully private.
The classes currently on offer are listed below together with the contact for the course leader. Generally the instructor will book and pay for the hire of the room and you will pay them directly, unless stated otherwise. Please contact the instructor if you would like to join any of the classes.
Starting on 4th June 2018, a new outdoor Boot Camp. Cost £5 for adults and £3 for juniors. Over 11s only please.
Commit to get fit with circuit training classes from our own Jason Biles. Wednesday’s LEANGym is a gym based class using our new Community Gym facility. It is a gentle gym based circuit class that suits all fitness abilities and is aimed at helping you make changes to your Lifestyle, Exercise and Nutrition. We can discreetly and individually weigh or measure you (optional and by appointment) and help you set some realistic goals that will make positive changes in your life all year round.
All the above courses are £7 per week. If you come to the Wednesday or Thursday class and have to miss your session, you can attend the Sunday class instead as that class can take extra people. Discounts are available for students. You can have a trial session for £5.

Simple strength, balance, flexibility and mobility is the focus for this class. A chair is used as a support as well as a range of equipment. As the class progresses, some time will be spent working on practising going down and up from the floor (or kneeling). This class is ideal for people who are worried about their balance.

Chloe teaches dynamic pilates – a challenging class using small equipment and high repetition of exercises to increase the workload on the muscles. Her classes focus on mobility, increasing strength and stamina. Chloe’s approach is very hands on – correcting technique and form throughout the class. The café in the Community Centre is a great place to meet and now has longer opening hours. It is partly staffed by volunteers and helps us to raise money for the upkeep of the centre. Do pay us a visit soon as see for yourself. More information and menus can be found here.
Four new sessions for under-5s from meetings for pregnant mums and parents with young babies through to Toddler Gym and Stay and Play sessions. Details can be found here.
The monthly quizzes are proving popular, with the first two selling out! The next ones are on Wed 27th June and 25th July at 8pm (doors open 7.30pm). A different quiz master will do each one. Price only £5 per player, drinks available to purchase from the café. More details here.
People of secondary school age can come and use the sports hall on Thursdays 5-6pm to play basketball or another sport of your choice. Staff will set it up and leave the game to you to organise. Only £1 per player.
The Wednesday evening volleyball session now runs from 8-10pm. Players of all levels as well as newcomers to the game are welcome. Click here for details.
After School Activity Clubs have extended the age range to all pupils aged 8 and above. They are now on Mon, Wed and Thurs 4-5pm. The cost is only £3 per session for an hour of sport in the main hall. Click here for more details.
